Privacy
AffiliateLauncher is affiliate and commission software run by CNR Consulting Services, Inc.. This page explains what information the service handles and why.
Who this covers
- Merchants: companies that install the Shopify app, the WooCommerce plugin or the Magento module, or create a company on this site.
- Affiliates: partners a merchant adds or enrolls so they can earn commissions.
- Store customers: people who buy from a merchant's store.
What we handle
- Account details: name, email address and sign-in information for merchant staff and affiliates.
- Store and order data: orders, refunds and related details the merchant's store platform sends us, used to attribute sales to affiliates and work out commissions.
- Commission records: attributed sales, commission plans, ledger balances and payout history.
- Payout details: when an affiliate links PayPal, we store the PayPal payer ID so payouts reach the right account. See the PayPal privacy policy page for that flow.
- Forms: answers to enrollment or event forms a merchant sets up.
- Billing: subscription billing goes through Shopify for Shopify stores, or through Stripe for companies that sign up here. We don't store full card numbers.
How we use it
We use this information to run the service for the merchant: tracking referred sales, calculating and paying commissions, showing affiliates what they earned, sending account and service emails, and keeping the service secure. We don't sell personal information.
Who else sees it
The merchant who runs an affiliate program controls that program's data. We use service providers to run AffiliateLauncher, such as Cloudflare for hosting and data storage, Neon for database hosting, and the payment and store platforms you connect (PayPal, Stripe, Shopify, WooCommerce or Magento).
How long we keep it
We keep data while the account is active. When a Shopify store uninstalls the app, Shopify sends a shop removal notice about 48 hours later. When it arrives, we erase that store's customer personal data: customer names, emails, phone numbers, addresses and Shopify customer IDs on its orders, plus order notes and order form answers. Customer emails and customer details we can identify are removed from our logs and queued emails, and we delete the store's Shopify connection and app login. We keep affiliates' personal and payee details (such as names, emails, addresses and payout details) and commission, payout and ledger records, along with the order amounts and dates behind them, because merchants need them as tax records. If no other owner or store is linked to the company, we turn off the account but keep those records. If the company has other Shopify stores connected, we erase customer data only on that store's orders and the matching log entries. Older orders we can't tie to one store, and raw Shopify webhook logs, are kept until those stores also uninstall. Please export your data before uninstalling.
Security
We send website visitors to HTTPS, our database connections use encryption, and the admin and API check your sign-in before showing company data.
